Our annual School Music Budget (not including salaries) runs about $15,000. This includes instrument rental collections and field trip collections as well as school contributions for sheet music, supplies, equipment, and new instruments. The Music Booster Budget totals around $85,000 annually. This includes income from fundraising, student transportation/uniform fees, donations, and expenditures for instruments, festivals, uniforms, buses, and supplies. Fundraising is obviously an important aspect of the music program since many of our costs exceed the school budget (in particular, buses, festivals, and uniform cleaning costs). The fall fundraiser is typically a gift catalog sale with all profits going directly to the Music Booster account. The profit for this year's sale was $8,000 and funds will be used for new instruments, additional uniforms, sheet music, clinicians, and equipment. A Winter Concert & Raffle was held December 20 & 21 and raised $1,500. The spring fundraiser will be a World's Finest candy sale with all profits credited to individual students' trip accounts (unless that ensemble does not have a trip in which case the money stays in the Music Booster account). It is vital that every family do their fair share towards fundraising. Donations to the music department total about $4,000 per year including goods/services donated for the raffle as well as monetary donations to the trip fund and general budget. If you or your business have donations (equipment, office supplies, food items, raffle items, etc.) or would like to make a cash contribution, please contact us. You will be given a certificate to be used for tax purposes. Large contributors are listed on our Notable Music Partners Music Staff in the school's main foyer.
